Happy Holidays??

I'm a little late :)  I figured I should post something about the holidays on here, since I decided to do this blog to document our lives and such.  Blogging has not been as exciting for me as I anticipated it to be...any ideas of how to improve/have more fun with my blog?  Anyway...

We decided to host both Thanksgiving AND Christmas at our house this year!  Crazy, I know!!

For Thanksgiving, we had my uncle Will and his four kids over, and his girlfriend Susan - that makes 9 people, if you include Baby Griff.  Will made turkey and Susan made stuffing and gravy.  I made homemade rolls, two kinds of yams, green bean casserole, fruit salad, and mashed potatoes.  It was quite the cooking experience for me.  I think it all turned out well.
Here's the spread

I love everyone's faces in this picture - we did have fun, promise.

As for Christmas, I did decidedly less cooking.  Ty made a big breakfast and we had my mom, Ty's parents, his sister Katie and her hubby Jake, and his Aunt Kathy over.  We went to church and listened to the Christmas program, and then came back and opened presents, then Ty made tacos :)  We went to Ty's parents' house later and had dinner, and then played Apples to Apples.  It was a really fun day :)  Sadly, I didn't take many pictures of baby's first Christmas, but here's a few I did take.
Santa has been here :)

It was so fun to have my mom here, and she loved playing with baby Griff and reading from my library.

Ty was our master chef.

Griffin LOVES this toy.

All in all, we had a great holiday season!  I feel truly blessed to have such amazing family and friends, and to have had such a wonderful first year with our boy.

Baby's First Halloween!

We've had Griffin's Halloween costume picked out ever since we found out we were having a boy.  It was so fun to see him finally get to wear it!  We opted out of trick-or-treating this year since he was too little too appreciate it, but we took him around to see some friends of ours, and then we went up to a Halloween party at Grandma and Grandpa Fellows' house.  He was a big hit, but then again, he always is :)
Our little dragon is taking steps :)

I sure love this little beast :)

He LOVES this little Halloween snow globe that Grandma got for him.
Happy Halloween!

Halloween!

I absolutely love Halloween!  It's the best time of the year - not too hot or too cold, and the leaves changing on the trees, not to mention that it's also my birthday :)  I pull out my best pumpkin smelling candles and all my sweaters and boots.  Last year I was pregnant and busy so we never quite got our decorations up.  This year I was determined to have the house decked out for Griff's first Halloween.  I have a ton of decorations - I'm having to get creative about places to put them.  Here are a few of my favorites:

Every year Ty's mom gets us a new decoration.  This is 2011.  You can put a candle inside.

My mom got me these witches' feet and I love to pull them out each year.  I have yet to see anything quite like them :)

These are my absolute favorite.  They remind me of The Nightmare Before Christmas.  I also love that I've had these for years and there was a little boy :)  We're all represented this year.

I just love making everything look like fall

Happy Halloween everyone!
