First Food Flop

I thought I'd be a good and domestic little Mommy and make Griffin some baby food.  I've made peaches, sweet potatoes, summer squash, and carrots!  I thought that Griff would love it, being so fresh and all, but the only one he likes is the peaches.  He will also tolerate the squash, but when I fed him the sweet potatoes he gagged and threw up!  I think my little guy is a tad bit texture sensitive.  So much for that!  For now it will stay in my freezer and we can try again in a few months.  Oh well, I guess that's why so many people buy it :)

Bummer. Sometimes when my kiddos did that or when I would try to introduce something they didn't like as much (because all they wanted were very few things) I'd gradually mix more and more of the new thing. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Anyhoo, Griff is adorable!

You need to add just a little brown sugar to the squash and sweet potatoes... Abi loves those foods!

We made all our baby food and really liked it. Too bad first impressions didn't go so well. You can probably try again on the less attractive food sooner then you think. Or you could try mixing the flavors. We would do sweet potatoes and carrots together or the peaches and sweet potatoes together. Also, we would always do taste tests before we froze food and everyone would taste. There were some foods that really didn't taste very good and we wouldn't have known or been able to fix it if we had not tasted it. Good luck with the new food adventure. We really enjoyed it and it saved A TON of money!

Way to be domestic! You are amazing! I'm going to try and start Penny out on homemade baby food - we'll see if I can do it. I like that yours are in really cute little squares! I hope he likes the other foods soon!

Jayde loved it when we mixed applesauce with the sweet potatoes.
